Associate Director – Town Planning Edinburgh

£60,000 – £75,000 + bonus + benefits

Our client is a nationally recognised planning consultancy with a network of offices across the UK is looking for a driven Associate Director to help lead their planning team and progress into the director role in the near future.

You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring junior staff, securing new business, and working closely with Directors on long-term strategy.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Leading and managing complex planning projects from inception to delivery Preparing and reviewing planning applications, reports, and appeals Acting as key client contact and developing lasting relationships Representing the business at planning committees, public inquiries and hearings Supporting business development and contributing to strategic growth plans Mentoring and developing junior team members

What We’re Looking For:

MRTPI qualified (essential) Strong consultancy or client-side experience (ideally 8+ years) A proven track record of delivering planning consents and managing complex schemes Commercial awareness and confidence in business development Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills Local market knowledge of Scotland, particularly Edinburgh and the Lothians, is advantageous
