Associate Director – Transport Planning (Manchester)Summary:We are seeking a full-time Associate Director for our Manchester transport planning team based in Manchester.We offer a challenging and rewarding career working for a leading consultancy with a strong presence in the North West. You will join a growing team delivering a wide variety of interesting projects for clients in both the private and public sectors.Responsibilities:You will have demonstrable business development credentials, ideally with a focus on the North West markets. This role involves leading work winning through established client contacts, building a solid workload to support the development of a small team that will support and enhance the existing team in Manchester.This includes project management, technical support, staff management, and mentoring junior team members. You will be responsible for managing individual projects, acting as the main client contact, and supervising junior staff.You should demonstrate relevant technical and market knowledge and experience in working on projects for both private and public sectors across the North West.Requirements:Proven project management and business development skills, including proposal writingKnowledge of the UK transport planning industry and planning systemExtensive experience in preparing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Transport chapters for Environmental Statements, etc.Self-motivated with the ability to undertake tasks with minimal supervisionStrong time management skills to meet project deadlinesExcellent presentation and spreadsheet skillsExperience in delivering technically challenging projectsExperience liaising with public and private sector clientsUnderstanding of current design guides such as Manual for Streets and DMRBKnowledge of junction modelling softwareExperience with Public Inquiry and Examination in Public is beneficialPreferred Qualifications:Degree or Master’s in a relevant field (e.g., transport planning, civil engineering, geography).
