Role Profile: Director / Associate Director – Hotels – QS / Cost Management

Overview

This is a Partner or Associate-level opportunity within a well-established, niche consultancy with an excellent reputation in the student accommodation and build-to-rent sectors. Their hotel portfolio has seen steady and exciting growth, and they are now looking to appoint a true hotel specialist to take the lead in this space.

You’ll be joining a dynamic, entrepreneurial leadership team and will have full ownership of developing and scaling the hotel business stream. This is a key appointment designed to cement the company’s position as a sector specialist in the hospitality market.

Please note: Relevant hotel sector experience is essential for this role.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a commercially focused, strategically minded Cost / Quantity Surveying professional to take a central leadership role in driving forward the growth of our hotel sector offering.

This is a high-profile, client-facing position that blends cost consultancy with sector strategy and business development. You will work closely with internal leaders, external stakeholders, and some of the UK’s most prominent hotel operators, developers, and investors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the hotel sector business stream, identifying new opportunities and building long-term client relationships
• Deliver high-quality cost management services across a range of hotel projects (capex programmes, refurbishments, new builds, and acquisitions)
• Partner closely with client-side property directors and internal stakeholders to ensure commercial success and alignment with brand, cost, and time objectives
• Act as a strategic advisor on hotel development, lifecycle costing, and value engineering
• Represent the business at industry events and contribute to thought leadership in the hospitality space
• Report to the Board and leadership team on pipeline, performance, and strategic direction for the hotel portfolio

What We’re Looking For

• A background in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management, ideally MRICS (or equivalent), with extensive, demonstrable experience in the hotel sector
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills, with the gravitas to lead at senior levels
• Strategic thinker with the commercial awareness to grow a sector offering and build market presence
• A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset, keen to take ownership and drive growth within a niche, quality-led consultancy
