Overview:A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Associate Director specialising in Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) Building Services. This strategic role is focused on delivering high-profile, mission-critical projects across the UK defence sector, including MoD bases, training facilities, and secure infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage MEP design teams onplex defence and national infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee project delivery from concept through topletion, ensuringpliance with UK regulations and client specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and consultants across disciplines.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to develop innovative, sustainable, and resilient building services solutions.
  • Ensure quality assurance, risk management, and adherence to security protocols on all defence-related schemes.
  • Support business development activities, including bid preparation and client engagement within the defence and secureernment sectors.
  • Essential Requirements:
  • Currently operating at Principal or Associate level within a UK-based Building Services consultancy.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in MEP design and project leadership, with at least 5 years based in the UK.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects within the defence, secureernment, or mission-critical sectors.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a relevant institution (, CIBSE, IMechE, IET).
  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, MoD JSP standards, and security-cleared environments.
  • Excellentmunication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience working on SC or DV-cleared projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM Level 2 and digital delivery tools.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices and Net Zero Carbon strategies.
