The Role
We now have an exciting opportunity to join us on a permanent basis as an Associate Director within our Credit Risk Solutions team within Howden CAP. The position is based from our office in the City of London.
We are seeking a client focussed Associate Director with solid understanding and experience of originating and structuring LevFin transactions. You will act as a senior liaison between clients and insurers vis-à-vis credit risk insurance to ensure suitable cover, appropriate pricing and best in class insurance advice is received by our International banking clients. Risks/accounts assigned to the successful candidate will likely be high value, meaningful and sophisticated therefore experience/know-how of credit risk is vital. We will be able to teach the insurance piece.

What you’ll do
- Review client documentation to ensure that the information presented is comprehensive/accurate to support the quoting process
- Collate and communicate client requirements to ensure appropriate marketing of, and insurance solution for, the risk
- Prepare or check market presentations
- Liaise with clients; advising, investigating and resolving queries ultimately resulting in becoming a trusted advisor
- Is aware of, and satisfies, territory, tax and legislation requirements
- Respond to market and third party queries as appropriate
- Produce high quality and compliant market documentation ensuring appropriate authorisations are secured
- Assist in the review of product wordings to ensure these are appropriate to the requirements of clients and territories
- Ensure up to date records are maintained at all times on the internal systems
- Is a ‘subject matter expert’ referral point for more junior members of the team, providing technical input and expertise to ensure that actions/decisions taken are appropriate
Who we’re looking for
- Knowledge of the credit market including an awareness of competitors, specific territory knowledge, cultural awareness with a focus on LevFin
- Relevant credit insurance experience is not necessary although evidently welcome
- Good understanding of the relevant regulatory environments and their requirements pertaining to risk transfer between banks and insurers
- Sound understanding of general and principles of banking
- Consistent record of supporting teams to deliver high levels of client service
- Some experience of training/mentoring more junior members of staff is desirable
- Willingness to undertaken business development as we look to increase our banking client base
- Willingness to travel at times, given our client base is truly international
