OverviewAssociate Town Planner role based in Manchester, UK. Penguin Recruitment is working with a respected and expanding planning consultancy to appoint an Associate Town Planner. This is a pivotal hire for the team and would suit a Chartered Planner with strong experience delivering residential and mixed-use schemes across the North West. This role offers the opportunity to take a leadership position in projects, play a key role in client relationships, and contribute to the strategic growth of the business.ResponsibilitiesLead on complex planning applications, appeals, and strategic site promotionProvide sound planning advice to housebuilders, developers, and landownersCoordinate multidisciplinary project teams and manage client expectationsRepresent clients at hearings, committee meetings, and public consultationsContribute to fee proposals, resourcing, and business developmentRole OfferingsA senior client-facing role with responsibility for leading major applicationsManagement of projects from inception through to determination and appealLine management and mentoring opportunities within the planning teamDirect involvement in business development and client strategyFlexible working and a supportive, growth-oriented environmentRequirementsMRTPI Chartered Town Planner (essential)Significant experience (typically 5+ years) within a consultancy or local authority environmentProven track record of delivering residential and mixed-use schemes in the North WestExcellent understanding of the planning policy landscape and development processStrong leadership, communication, and client management skillsWhy Join This Team?This consultancy has a strong regional presence, a loyal client base, and an excellent reputation for professionalism and delivery.
