Job Description
Position: Associate Director - Infrastructure and Heavy Industy
Location: 100 Bishopsgate, London
Salary: Up to £125,000 + performance bonus + potential equity/board seat
About Ginjo Construction
Ginjo Construction is a fast-growing, internationally active consultancy operating across industrial, utilities, pharma, manufacturing, and advanced tech sectors. We deliver commercial advisory, project management, and quantity surveying services on complex, high-value schemes across the UK, Europe, Africa, and the Nordics.
With a vision to scale to £150m turnover and become a market leader in the industrial and infrastructure consultancy space, Ginjo is building a leadership team to match those ambitions.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an Associate Director to play a pivotal role in shaping Ginjo’s next phase of growth. This is a partner-track opportunity for a RICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor and proven commercial leader, with a clear route to Commercial Director and ultimately a seat at the board table.
This role is not just about delivery – it’s about strategic influence, stakeholder leadership, and ensuring commercial excellence across every project. For the right candidate, there is the potential to gain equity participation and play a central role in Ginjo’s long-term success story.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all live projects to ensure profitability, margin protection, and financial discipline.
- Ensure valuations, applications, and payments are prepared and submitted on time.
- Drive commercial assurance across projects – from cost planning through to final account.
- Lead the Quantity Surveying and commercial team, setting performance standards and ensuring delivery quality.
- Act as senior liaison with clients, contractors, and partners – maintaining Ginjo’s reputation for trust and clarity.
- Mentor junior QSs and project staff, supporting career progression and RICS chartership pathways.
- Oversee project risk management, claims, and contract administration (FIDIC, NEC, JCT).
- Implement and enforce commercial best practice, systems, and reporting across the business.
- Work closely with Directors to ensure strategic objectives are met and the business is positioned for scalable growth.
Candidate Profile
- RICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor (essential).
- 10–15+ years’ experience in construction consultancy and commercial leadership, ideally with international exposure.
- Proven track record of delivering profitable outcomes on major industrial, infrastructure, or EPC projects.
- Strong background in valuations, cost control, and claims management.
- Natural leader and mentor, able to build and inspire high-performing teams.
- Excellent communicator with the confidence to engage at board level and with senior stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset – thrives in a scaling, agile business without the bureaucracy of larger firms.
Why Join Ginjo?
- Competitive salary up to £125,000 with performance-based incentives.
- Clear path to Commercial Director with a direct impact on project and company growth.
- Opportunity for equity participation and board-level involvement as the business grows.
- Work on international, high-value industrial projects at the cutting edge of infrastructure, pharma, and renewable energy.
- Join a consultancy with the ambition, agility, and vision to scale to £150m turnover and a £50m valuation by 2035.
