An opportunity has become available for an Associate Rail Director within OLE Design at AECOM to undertake leadership and act as a Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) on multi-disciplinary rail schemes, working closely with discipline Contractors Responsible Engineers and key project stakeholders.Start here. This role involves leading multi-design co-ordination including signalling, overhead line, third rail, civils and power, and ensuring delivery to appropriate quality standards while applying Safe By Design and Common Safety Method (CSM) principles.ResponsibilitiesLead the multi-design co-ordination including signalling, overhead line, third rail, civils and power.Provide checks of design deliverables completed by team members in accordance with company procedures.Act as Contractor’s Engineering Manager (CEM) for multi-disciplinary schemes nationwide and as Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) where required.Lead team briefings and apply technical initiatives to improve quality, standards, and performance reviews; stay up to date with industry best practice.Ensure project delivery to quality standards and drive integrated multi-discipline engineering efficiency.Provide design coordination across signalling, overhead line, third rail, civils and power; ensure timely delivery in line with design programmes.Manage budgets and resources for the design team; ensure Safe By Design and CS(M) safety approaches are applied across projects.QualificationsDemonstrable experience in railway OLE design across the engineering process from project inception to delivery, specifically on Network Rail infrastructure.Experience leading teams and performing Engineering Manager roles on high-profile rail projects.Knowledge of maintenance practices, construction methodologies, and design development requirements.Knowledge of system interfaces affecting track design and management of design interfaces.Excellent communication skills, ability to develop and deliver presentations, and experience preparing technical reports and project management capabilities.Contractor’s Engineering Management experience in rail projects within OLE.Ready to joinDemonstrable experience and understanding of railway OLE throughout the engineering process.Strong communication skills and ability to work within an Alliance while meeting strict project deadlines.Client-facing communication with clients, developers, consultants, elected representatives and the public.Client-focused approach to service delivery.Additional InformationWe celebrate diversity and welcome applications from all backgrounds and abilities.
