With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:We're actively looking to recruit for an Associate Technical Director to develop our water & wastewater civils team in the UK.Our Water team is tackling some of the UK’s most technically challenging projects and AMP8 programmes. We are renowned for our expertise in delivering these complex schemes and collaborate closely with some of the country’s most prominent and well-known water companies and contractors.As an Associate Technical Director, you will be a leader of our Civil Engineering teams and work on a variety of projects across the UK. Reporting to the Framework Design Manager / Technical Director, the successful candidate will provide dynamic professional technical leadership to our engineering teams to meet client expectations. You will have an extensive practical understanding of technical matters, appreciation of commercial and contract management, and experience of technical delivery of complex projects/programmes of work. The role necessitates the ability to work effectively across organisational boundaries, both internally and externally to Arcadis, and offers a pathway towards senior management positions.Role accountabilities:Technically lead and coordinate complex multi-disciplined wastewater or water treatment / infrastructure projects and programmes of work throughout the design life cycleCollaborate with key clients, partner organisations and supply chain maintaining Arcadis’ reputation for high quality, innovative design and a positive client experienceBuild and sustain adequate resource for the delivery of the project or programme and support identify strategic recruitment needsProvide Line Management, career direction and pastoral care to team members, taking a proactive role in developing them to their full potential, leading by example to achieve sector/divisional goals and championing a high quality, innovative and entrepreneurial culturePromote a culture that is proactive on Safety, Health, Quality and Sustainability mattersPromote a culture of innovation, helping to develop engineering technology and continuous improvement systemsWork with the Framework Design Manager and Project Manager team to manage the programme, ensure commercial rigour, deliver profitable outputs and resolve project issues efficientlyPerforming other duties as required from time to time by your Client Manager or Arcadis Senior Leadership TeamWork with other Arcadis teams to foster collaboration, ensuring the collective knowledge and experience is shared across allQualifications & Experience:Degree in Civil Engineering or other directly related degreeChartered or Incorporated Engineer status and membership of a professional institution such as ICE or CIWEMExtensive water industry experience of working on complex design and delivery frameworks and / or design and build projectsTakes accountability and leads by example in particular with championing and taking a lead in solving SHEQ issues.Has excellent people management skills, ensuring that the best talent is used to meet the resource demands for the projected workloadExperience of contract, commercial, project & programme managementIs digitally curious and/or proficientAn excellent communicator at all levels who works effectively with people from other organisations, backgrounds, and disciplines, utilising their knowledge and experience to best effectDemonstrable experience of building and sustaining successful teamsExhibit behaviours consistent with the Arcadis vision and valuesWhy Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
