Overview

Grant Thornton is focused on looking to the future, ambitious growth and pioneering positive change in the industry. We provide audit, tax and advisory services, empowering clients through strategic insight, curiosity, and genuine partnership, and we offer our people an inclusive culture and work life balance. With over 5,000 people in the UK and a presence in 150 global markets, we aim to move from great to exceptional and redefine what our industry looks like and what you want from your career.

Our investment from Cinven is a key moment in this journey, supporting growth and development with enhanced technology, a larger client base, and more opportunities for career progression.

We have ambitious growth plans and a record revenue trajectory since 2022, while retaining our partnership structure and ethos.

Responsibilities

  • Audit Directors are Responsible Individuals, focusing on delivering and signing off high quality audits.
  • Heavy emphasis on strategic growth of the team, business development, and fostering an inclusive culture.
  • Coaching teams to success and building long-standing client relationships, with a preference for existing RIs who have a high audit quality rating and operate in either the listed or larger mid-market space.
  • Take a leading strategic role with a firm that supports growth and development toward Partnership.

Candidate profile / Qualifications

  • We are looking for existing Responsible Individuals (RIs) with a high audit quality rating.
  • Experience in the listed or larger mid-market space and a passion for coaching, teams, and client relationship management.

Rewards and Benefits

Market-leading performance deserves market-leading rewards. In addition to a competitive salary and reward package, we plan to introduce an Employee Benefit Trust (EBT), which will make us the only large firm in the UK to offer equity units below partner grade, enabling you to share in the firm’s growth and success. A material amount of equity for future partners has been held back during the investment period to protect the future generation of partners.

Culture is everything. Our culture is built on trust, flexibility, and inclusion. We support our teams to deliver their best work by having open conversations at the start of each audit to understand everyone’s ways of working and personal commitments.

Your development is our focus. We don’t make empty promises about promotions and progression. To nurture our people into directors and partners of the future, we support development from day one, working with you to set clear plans toward promotion.

We continue to invest in our people’s skills, including a £1.2 million investment in 3D Data-Driven Digital mindset training.

Quality matters. We care about quality and are proud to have achieved 100% on file reviews twice. This is a unique opportunity to join the firm at an exciting period.

Note to agencies – we operate a direct sourcing model but have a formal PSL in place if needed. We will only consider speculative CVs or candidate profiles if directed to the Talent & Recruitment team, not to the Audit practice.
