At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. In this role you’ll drive the quality application of Babcock’s end‑to‑end Business Winning Methodology as part of the consortium bidding for the Integrated Combat Rotary Wing Training (ICRWT) opportunity.
Role
As a Bid Programme Director you’ll lead the ICRWT bid as Bid Lead, working closely with the Opportunity Lead and subject‑matter experts across the business. From pre‑qualification to post‑submission you’ll ensure the bid is effectively resourced and executed to maximise success.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Babcock’s bidding process using established best practices—planning timelines, setting key milestones, coordinating critical meetings, and ensuring all deliverables are met through effective stakeholder engagement and accountability.
- Integrate Babcock’s bid activities with the consortium Prime’s programme, fostering cultural and procedural alignment to enhance collective win probability (PWin).
- Collaborate across functions to bring together diverse expertise, ensuring high‑quality business winning outputs with a clear ‘golden thread’ linking value proposition, solution, pricing and deal structure.
- Act as the primary escalation point for the bid team on matters related to the Business Winning Methodology and programme delivery, providing guidance and resolution.
- Establish and oversee the bid management organisation, including matrix management, to ensure efficient programme delivery and resource coordination.
- Drive strategic bid development, including win strategies, competitive and capability assessments, and differentiated value propositions that strengthen the consortium’s overall offering.
Essential Experience
- Business Winning Expertise: Proven track record in applying recognised business winning methodologies across the full bid lifecycle, with the ability to shape strategy during early capture phases.
- Leadership & Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to lead, motivate and coordinate large, multi‑functional teams in complex, high‑pressure environments.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrates strong financial and commercial awareness, with a clear understanding of how to align value propositions with customer needs and competitive positioning.
- Flexibility & Collaboration: Comfortable working internationally and across partner locations, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to integrate diverse inputs into cohesive bid outputs.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
