Keen to take your already established career to the next level? We're seeking a Broking Director to work with our Public Sector, Education & Housing division. Working as part of a team of regional broking directors with responsibility for directing placement and leading broking activity across the UK you will have specific responsibility for delivery of our placement strategy across several of our businesses in our PSE & Housing business. This role would broadly be London based, however flexibility to travel is required. Hybrid working is also available. How you'll make an impact Hands-on placement assistance with large and/or challenging risks advising on and coordinating broking strategy, as well as leading negotiations with insurers to secure placement solutions which enable us to both win and retain clients. Provide market management and trading support to our client management teams providing the right level of insurer access when they need it. Meet with clients where necessary. Establishing and cultivating insurer relationships within the region and evaluating their performance and service delivery. Work with our preferred insurers to review and take action on barriers to trading. Monitor and share joint opportunity pipeline with insurers. Build a network of internal and external contacts through effective relationship management, including attending networking events. Use strong analytical skills to interpret management information, recommend areas for improvement and measure the effectiveness of our placement strategy. Developing and working with a team of broking managers growing their knowledge, improving their skills and developing their potential through dedicated support, coaching and mentorship. Act as a conduit for feedback to furnish your branches with relevant market intelligence and help manage insurer service issues where necessary. Work with new acquisition partners to integrate with the Gallagher UK placement strategy. Provide training and support on how to access our bespoke product facilities. Significant travel around the business and on occasion other parts of the UK, is required. About You Previous experience within a similar role. A strong command of general insurance and the UK insurance market. CII qualifications would be desirable, but we believe that you haven't come this far in your career without the right attitude and determination, that's what counts! Confidence to build effective relationships at multiple levels within our preferred insurer partners. Build and maintain effective relationships having regular engagement with multi-level internal stakeholders. Proven experience within a senior broking, client facing or sales role is important as is a demonstrable track record of developing effective relationships and delivering real results. From the beginning, you're keen to make a difference, dealing well under pressure and ambiguity in a fast-paced role. With high-level regulatory awareness and effective negotiation skills, you’re an authentic communicator comfortable with a varying audience and credible at decision-maker level. You have excellent planning and analytical skills, appropriate and measured, continually seek to build a professional network. This will include regular and frequent visits to the offices you are responsible for.
