Business Development Director - Brand Direct

A fast-scaling, technology-driven marketing agency is hiring a Business Development Director to lead its brand-direct sales strategy. You'll be responsible for building and converting high-value relationships with brand-side marketing, digital, and procurement stakeholders, with a clear focus on securing £1m+ multi-year deals.

This is a high-impact, revenue-owning position with direct access to the executive team and full support from strategy, delivery, and marketing.

About the Role:

You’ll take full ownership of new business growth through brand-direct sales. From prospecting to pitch to close, you’ll drive the full sales cycle, crafting tailored solutions that speak to client needs. Your remit will include developing the brand pipeline, responding to RFPs, and leading commercial negotiations—with the support of a high-performing cross-functional team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Driving net-new business directly from brand clients, managing the entire sales cycle
  • Leading high-value engagements (£1m+) via direct outreach, RFPs, and senior-level networking
  • Building long-term relationships with brand-side decision-makers in marketing, digital, and procurement
  • Partnering with marketing to generate pipeline through campaigns, content, and event activity
  • Representing the agency at key industry events, leading pitch strategy and presentations
  • Mentoring junior commercial team members and collaborating closely with delivery to ensure project success

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 5 years experience in brand-direct sales within marketing, advertising, or tech-enabled agency environments
  • A proven ability to close large, complex deals directly with brands
  • Experience leading RFPs and multi-stakeholder sales processes
  • Strong commercial judgment, particularly around pricing and procurement
  • Excellent pitch, presentation, and storytelling skills
  • A strong network of brand-side contacts and the ability to open senior doors
  • Proficiency with CRM tools, Keynote, and modern sales platforms
