We are partnered with a UK Headquartered Asset and Wealth Manager who are looking to make an exciting new hire to focus on developing and executing a business development strategy for their successful Insurance team. This newly created role will suit somebody with strong business development skills and a credible track record of selling to insurance clients.

Responsibilities

  • Build a UK domestic, off-shore and European business plan and execute against that, setting and meeting commercial goals
  • Proactively ensure that regular contact with intermediaries, prospects and potentially useful contacts are maintained
  • Co-ordinate business development activity across teams working closely with relevant colleagues and other teams
  • Present the full range of capabilities to the target client base, introducers, stakeholders, service providers etc increasing brand awareness, targeting UK domestic and European insurance markets through direct client calling, appropriate marketing and face to face meetings.
  • Negotiate and close new mandates ensuring smooth transition to relevant colleagues to successfully onboard new clients.
  • Identify and research potential new markets that would be receptive to the firm's institutional client offering.
  • Development of prospect presentation materials including RFPs, proposals and meeting agendas to appropriately reflect local market nuances.
  • Build, maintain and monitor a sales pipeline and manage that across the key target markets.
  • Use, manage and report on our CRM system (Salesforce) – including the ability to report on business development progress/activity and pipeline weekly and monthly.
  • Oversee and work closely with our Marketing team to ensure the team has a comprehensive marketing strategy in place, covering events, content, social media, etc. across all regions covered by the team.

Required Skillset

  • Experience in an Institutional Sales Team within the Investment Management Industry
  • Entrepreneurial, resilient and able to work in a boutique environment
  • Commercial and strategic
  • Articulate with an ability to communicate to wide range of audiences and different cultures
  • Proactive and responsive to intermediary, prospect and client requests
  • Dynamic with an ability to take on business travel as much as two or three times a month to meet intermediaries, prospects and clients covering the UK domestic and European markets, but also further afield if opportunities arise (i.e. Caribbean, US, etc.).
  • Excellent understanding of the complexities of the sales process, with an ability for building our brand internationally
