Our events bring together top executives, technology providers, investors, and thought leaders to shape the future of digital infrastructure. As we expand our portfolio of flagship summits into new markets, we are seeking a driven and entrepreneurial Business Development Director to lead sponsorship sales for our new event launches.
Role Overview
The Business Development Director will spearhead sponsorship sales for newly launched DCN events across Europe and globally. This is a senior commercial role focused on building strategic partnerships, generating revenue through high-value sponsorship packages, and driving the commercial success of new launches. The ideal candidate will be a proactive dealmaker with strong networks, excellent consultative sales skills, and experience in events in the data center / technology sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the sales strategy and execution for sponsorship packages across all new event launches
- Identify, approach, and build long-term relationships with C-level executives, marketing leaders, and decision-makers at technology vendors, service providers, investors, and related ecosystem players.
- Design, tailor, and negotiate compelling sponsorship and partnership proposals that align with client objectives.
- Collaborate closely with DCN’s content, operations, audience development and marketing teams to ensure sponsor deliverables are met and experiences are world-class.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential sponsors and emerging opportunities within the data center ecosystem.
- Track and manage sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics to ensure revenue targets are consistently achieved.
- Represent Data Center Nation at industry events, networking forums, and client meetings.
- Provide feedback and commercial insights to inform event content, formats, and value propositions.
Qualifications & Experience
Proven track record (5+ years) in sponsorship, partnerships, or B2B sales – ideally in the events, conferences, or technology/media sector.
Strong understanding of the technology landscape, preferably within data centers, cloud, or digital infrastructure.
Demonstrated ability to build C-level relationships and close six-figure sponsorship deals.
Entrepreneurial mindset with experience driving sales for new product or event launches.
Excellent negotiation, presentation, and consultative sales skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, and international environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to travel across Europe and globally for meetings and events.
