Business Development Manager/Director, UK

New Yesterday

Overview

RONIN International is a market-leading research organisation with over 30 years of experience, recognised in B2B, Healthcare and hard-to-reach survey research. We are pioneers in online, CATI and digital recruitment, conducting complex multi-country studies in more than 50 languages across the world.

We are looking for a strategic, client-focused and results-driven individual with proven experience in either Sales or Operations in B2B market research. You’ll be a self-starter with a highly consultative approach, strong problem-solving skills, and an appetite for growth.

The Opportunity

As part of the UK-based Sales & Business Development team, you’ll drive sales growth from existing accounts through up-sell and cross-sell, and expand our client base. You will be responsible for managing the entire sales process, from targeting and prospecting new business opportunities, including providing cost proposals, to maintaining client relationships and overseeing successful project delivery. You will work with UK and wider Group colleagues to promote RONIN capabilities and ensure optimum project delivery, budget control and client satisfaction.

Department: Sales & Business Development

Location and travel: Hybrid or office-based in the UK (UK office in Southwark, London); regular travel to the London office if based elsewhere in the UK. Travel to conferences, events and trade shows in the UK and abroad may be required.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Work with the Head of Sales and Research Director to identify potential new prospect clients and target key decision-makers, presenting and selling RONIN capabilities to become an approved supplier and receive requests for proposal.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and quotations that address client needs, demonstrate RONIN capabilities, and cost RFQs using internal costing and margin guidelines.
  • Effectively transition commissioned projects to operational teams while maintaining client communication to discuss issues, progress, costs and feasibility.
  • Maintain a workable CRM database of opportunities and clients for regular contact.
  • Monitor project progress daily and meet with Project Managers to ensure progress aligns with budget and deadlines; anticipate problems early for quick resolution.
  • Work with Finance to ensure invoices, cost margins, re-costing on changing specifications, and profitability reporting are managed.
  • Develop a strategic sales plan, meet and exceed personal sales targets, and track performance metrics (e.g., proposals received, conversion rates).
  • Attend and exhibit at tradeshows and events to identify new business opportunities and raise Ronin’s profile.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, competitor activities, trends, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other teams to explore new revenue streams and business development opportunities across the Rippleffect Group.

About You

You don’t need to tick all the boxes to be considered; please apply if you have most of what we’re looking for. You could be in a B2B Sales role in Market Research (ideally Online, CATI Quantitative or Qualitative) seeking more autonomy, or from an Operations background within B2B Market Research eager to move into a commercial role. You should have a strong understanding of data collection processes and RONIN capabilities (Global Qual and Quant data collection – Online, CATI, Digital, TDIs).

  • An effective communicator, presenter, networker and relationship builder
  • Genuine understanding of operational market research with a focus on data collection methodologies
  • A consultative and solution-focused approach with strong negotiation skills
  • Strong commercial acumen, with ability to generate and convert leads, meet and exceed sales targets, and drive revenue growth
  • Self-motivated and results-driven with proven account development and client servicing capabilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office

Application and Equality

To apply, please send your CV and a short cover note highlighting why you are interested in this role and joining RONIN.
