Overview

Our client in the Water Engineering sector is looking for a Business Sales Director to join their team in Ashfield.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company growth targets within the water engineering and environmental solutions sector.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with public and private sector clients, including government agencies, municipalities, frameworks, and industrial partners.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract closing, ensuring alignment with project delivery teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
  • Lead negotiations and finalize major project deals, ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and marketing teams to align sales efforts with company capabilities and market trends.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify new market segments and emerging opportunities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and networking.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, tender returns, design solutions, presentations, and reports to clients and executive management.
  • Track sales performance and provide regular forecasts and reports to the executive team.
  • Develop and cement systems and processes to help achieve sustainable growth within the sales department.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development and sales leadership within water engineering, environmental solutions, or related infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong technical understanding of lake, wetland, reservoir, flood defences, dredging, and river restoration projects.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strategic client relationships and secure large, complex projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to travel as necessary to meet with clients and attend industry events.
