OverviewWe are seeking a commercially astute and strategically minded Buying Director to lead trading and investment activity for a key retained luxury client. This is a pivotal role within our agency, responsible for managing high-value negotiations with media owners and ensuring the delivery of exceptional value and performance across all OOH campaigns. We hire the finest talent to help us unlock the full potential of the Out of Home (OOH) environment for our clients; and pride ourselves on the individuals who represent our business.Evolve OOH is part of the Talon Group and is a global outdoor media agency whose vision is to evolve the OOH medium through pioneering, results driven tools, team experience on a global scale, and a passion for creativity.A Day in the LifeLead Annual Trading NegotiationsOversee and execute annual trading deals and anniversary site renegotiations with media owners, ensuring optimal value and alignment with client objectives.In conjunction with the Client Partner, be responsible for, and oversee, all trading and negotiation across assigned agency business.Oversee non-investment trades with the planning team and ensure that pricing is appropriate and commercial objectives are being met.Participate in all significant client/agency pitches and negotiations across the agency group.Strategic Partnership ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with media owners, leveraging these to secure advantageous terms and innovative opportunities.Alongside the Account Director and Client Partner, be responsible for writing and implementing key client strategies.Sign off on rates and buying strategies across all plans under your remit.Work with the agency barter leads, MO’s and barter companies, to ensure an effective delivery of our clients barter requirements.Be responsible for developing and maintaining senior media owner contacts at Group Head and Sales Director level.Hold strong relationships with Agencies, Clients and Auditors and internal agency tracking teams.Campaign Upweights & CompensationManage ad hoc campaign upweights and negotiate relevant compensation packages as needed throughout the year.Client-Focused DeliveryAct as the senior point of contact for all buying-related matters for the retained client, ensuring transparency, accountability, and strategic alignment at all times.Deliver on all buying KPI’s whilst maintaining a best-in-class service.Performance MonitoringTrack and report on trading performance, ensuring all commitments are met and any shortfalls are proactively addressed.Ensure that all stakeholders are regularly updated with where their targets sit and redress any variables that may be highlighted.Hold ultimate responsibility for achieving commercial targets across your area of the business.Team Leadership & Team PlayingProvide guidance and mentorship to more junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.Educate, motivate and guide where required.Implement and direct the team in pushing specific initiatives.Be the spokesperson for your area of the business internally at Evolve and across the wider Talon Group.Work with the wider team to help service a range of clients and agencies at the highest level possible, where required.Participate in wider company initiatives including new business pitches, cogs, etc.What We’re Looking ForFearless prioritiser – You don’t just manage a to-do list, you own it.Proactive problem-solver – You spot issues before they become problems.Confident communicator – Whether it’s a boardroom or a quick Teams message, you speak with clarity and purpose.Decisive under pressure – You stay cool, calm, and collected when things get busy.Empathy in action – You understand people, not just processes.Relationship builder – You’re the friendly face and trusted go-to for colleagues and clients alike.Discreet and dependable – You handle sensitive information with care and integrity.Team player with heart – You lift others up and celebrate shared wins.Digitally savvy – You’re fluent in Outlook, Teams, Excel, and whatever else keeps the day running.Organisational ninja – You juggle calendars, travel, and tasks like a pro.Detail-obsessed – Nothing gets past you.
