OverviewJoin to apply for the Capital Allowances Associate Director role at Grant Thornton UK.We’re looking for a professional to join the Capital Allowances team within Real Estate Tax. The team provides capital allowances and land remediation relief advice, supporting property transactions, tax structuring, tax compliance and due diligence across UK real estate sectors including commercial, office, student accommodation, healthcare, industrial, logistics, retail and hotels. We welcome flexible working and can consider reduced hours or job shares.ResponsibilitiesBe a key member of a high performing team with opportunities to work with high profile clients and on challenging projects.Take responsibility for developing junior team members and understanding their career aspirations.Work with major clients on significant projects (e.g., construction costs up to £350m+ and portfolio reviews involving 100+ sites). There are opportunities for rapid progression as client demand grows.Own your own work; lead from the front in client engagement, delivering work and coordinating with Real Estate and broader Tax teams, with support from Partners and Directors.Collaborate in collating information, assessing, reviewing and issuing reports to clients, and supporting client needs related to capital allowances.Participate in and lead business development initiatives and proposal activity.Manage workload and set priorities in line with project demands.Minimum qualifications and experienceRICS / CTA / ACA qualified or equivalentCapital Allowances experienceExperience of monitoring junior team members' work and coaching / career developmentPreferably, demonstrable business development experience including working with Partners and Directors to build relationships with key accounts.Skills and attributes we valueTax structuring to enable tax-efficient property transactions from a capital allowances perspectiveInternational capital allowances advice and due diligenceTax compliance related to capital allowances and land remediation reliefExperience with UK Real Estate Investment Trusts, Unit Trusts and other property-investing entitiesKnowing we’re right for youGrant Thornton fosters an inclusive culture that values differences and enables people to bring their whole selves to work.
