What You’ll be doing:

As Care and Support Director, you will be a senior leader responsible for managing and improving care, support, and housing services across the organisation. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, lead a team of senior managers, and ensure services meet high standards and legal requirements. You'll also act as the organisation’s Safeguarding Lead, helping to keep people safe and well-supported. This is a key role where you’ll shape strategy, drive improvements, and work closely with partners to make a real difference in people’s lives


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across all care, support, and housing services, ensuring high-quality delivery that meets local and national standards.
  • Directly manage Heads of Service to ensure services are effective, person-centred, and responsive.
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, with overall responsibility for organisational safeguarding.
  • Contribute to and deliver against the organisation’s strategic plans and performance targets as part of the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Lead on operational compliance with regulatory bodies including the CQC, OFSTED, and Local Authorities.
  • Oversee service development and transformation programmes to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Foster strong partnerships with Local Government, NHS, private and voluntary sectors to enhance client services.
  • Ensure robust performance reporting, business continuity, and risk management systems are in place.
  • Promote a culture of high performance, learning, and staff development across operational teams.


What You’ll Need:

  • A relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification in management, housing, health, or social care.
  • Strong experience in a senior operational leadership role within supported housing or social care.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, service improvement, and performance management.
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation and regulatory frameworks relevant to housing and support services.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience managing financial budgets and ensuring cost-effective service delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Access to your own vehicle and a flexible, proactive working style.
