Client Director (London)

To lead and manage institutional client relationships across multiple regions, delivering tailored investment solutions, maintaining high standards of client care, and supporting strategic growth in the Europe, Middle East, and APAC.
Role Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management:
- Act as the lead relationship manager for institutional clients across assigned regions.
- Champion the client internally and represent Insight externally.
- Understand each client’s investment objectives, constraints, and strategic direction.
- Deliver investment solutions aligned with mandate requirements and evolving client needs.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., CIOs, Finance Directors, Global Heads of Pensions).
Business Development:
- Identify opportunities to grow mandates and evolve client strategies.
- Lead client pitches and support new business acquisition.
- Maintain detailed client plans outlining strategic context, risks, opportunities, and actions.
- Engage with advisers and asset stewards to explore new business avenues.
Client satisfaction:
- Provide ongoing investment dialogue and adapt solutions to changing market conditions.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Portfolio Management, Legal, Finance, Operations, Investment Specialists) for seamless client servicing.
- Project manage new client onboarding and transitions, including negotiation of legal agreements.
Internal collaboration:
- Work closely with Client Service Specialists, Solution Designers, and Investment Specialists.
- Contribute to product and service development to meet client needs.
- Ensure clients are informed of developments through effective communication.
Regulatory & governance:
- Fulfil delegated responsibilities with appropriate oversight and governance.
- Escalate concerns or potential breaches promptly.
- Complete mandatory training and maintain required certifications.
- Comply with regulatory conduct rules and internal policies.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in institutional relationship management or transferable skills from asset management, sell-side financial services or consulting.
- Strong understanding of investment management theory and practice.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages could be an advantage for supporting other markets.
- Regional knowledge of APAC institutional markets would be beneficial to the role however familiarity with EMEA investment landscapes is also advantageous
- Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage relationships at various levels and across cultures.
- Experience with physical and derivative-based investment solutions.
- Proven track record in business development and sales, including driving revenue growth and delivering client acquisition strategies.
