Commercial Director - Prestige

Our Client is a specialist supplier of bespoke HVAC equipment, with generations of design, manufacturing, and installation experience.

A privately-run company, they have built a growing reputation for service based on their ethos of providing high-quality, top-performance, and value-for-money HVAC equipment.

They have built their success on blending many years of expertise and traditional workmanship methods with the latest advanced components.

They are creating a new role within the organisation for a Commercial Director to be an integral part of the shareholders' strategic plan to professionalise and grow the business and management team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the proposals and sales functions of the business
  • Work closely with the sales director to manage key customers, to improve turnover and profitability in line with business objectives
  • Work with the Sales director and shareholders to secure new orders for the trading divisions
  • Develop and implement the commercial strategy for the business, including proposals, sales, and projects
  • Control the sales output on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis to achieve budget
  • Lead the business through project challenges and disputes
  • Understand and control the management of change with projects in the best interest of the business
  • Manage Project Management and Project Engineering resources and functions
  • Bring home projects on time, within budget, and with positive cash flow
  • Work closely with the Financial controller to ensure all financial/contractual obligations are understood and complied with, such as Guarantees, Warranties, Insurances, and Invoicing procedures
  • Liaise with relevant internal departments to ensure customer requirements are understood and fully communicated throughout the business

Requirements of the Role:

  • Educated to degree level in an Engineering discipline, ideally with a post-graduate qualification in project Management or Business Administration
  • Previous experience within HVAC or allied industries
  • Impressive demonstrable track record and skills/experience gained at a similar level
  • Strong leadership skills and experience
  • Credible and confident communicator
  • Tenacious and results-driven with sound business judgement
  • Commercially astute with expert negotiating and influencing skills
  • A willingness to communicate and travel to oversee locations, customers, and suppliers
