We are seeking an experienced Commercial Growth Consultant / Sales Director / Management Consultant to provide an external, objective perspective and hands-on leadership to support the next phase of the company’s commercial growth strategy.
SALARY: £120,000 per annum pro rata
LOCATION: Leeds, West Yorkshire (Office Based with some UK Travel - Reasonable travel and business expenses reimbursed)
JOB TYPE: 6 to 12 Month Full-Time, Interim Contract (Part-Time Hours will be considered)
JOB OVERVIEW
As the Commercial Growth Consultant / Sales Director / Management Consultant you will join the company in this critical interim role, working closely with the Head of Sales and collaborating across the wider commercial and marketing teams to drive sustainable sales growth, assess new opportunities, and enhance commercial effectiveness.
This role is ideal for a senior commercial professional with experience in FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) and a strong understanding of the UK retail landscape, particularly major retailers.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Commercial Growth Consultant / Sales Director / Management Consultant include:
• Strategic Market Analysis and Commercial Planning: Lead a comprehensive review and analysis of current market position, customer segments, and routes to market strategies
• Brand and Product Strategy: Collaborate with the marketing department to evaluate and optimise product positioning, market penetration, and overall brand strategy to enhance commercial growth
• Business Development and Sales Growth Strategy: Formulate and execute a data-driven five-year sales growth plan, focusing on market share expansion and identifying new business development opportunities
• Team Leadership and Culture: Support the development of the sales team, fostering a high-performance, proactive, and target-driven culture to achieve ambitious business objectives
• Performance Reporting and Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular strategic reporting and performance updates, including weekly briefings for the Managing Director and active participation in monthly senior management meetings.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
As the Commercial Growth Consultant / Sales Director / Management Consultant you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
ESSENTIAL
• Proven track record at Sales Director or equivalent senior commercial level
• Strong background in FMCG or related high-volume consumer goods sectors
• Experience working with major UK retailers and knowledge of their commercial requirements
• Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully deliver strategic growth plans
• Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and drive alignment across commercial and marketing functions
• Team player and motivator
DESIRABLE
• Previous interim or consultancy experience, ideally providing strategic sales leadership in a similar environment
• Broad UK market knowledge with insight into new market development opportunities
