Overview

Competition Economist with a minimum of ten years experience to join a leading advisory firm in London. This is a senior-level opportunity for a candidate with a strong track record in competition economics, antitrust, merger control, cartel investigations, disputes, and damages quantification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver high-impact economic analysis in the context of competition cases, merger reviews, cartel cases, and litigation.
  • Provide expert economic advice to legal teams, regulators, and corporate clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external clients, including law firms and corporates.
  • Independently generate revenue through client acquisition and project delivery, with a proven ability to bring in at least £500,000 annually.
  • Mentor and guide junior economists and contribute to the strategic growth of the practice.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in competition economics, with demonstrable expertise across antitrust, M&A, cartel investigations, and litigation support.
  • Advanced degree in Economics (Master's or PhD strongly ).
  • Proven ability to originate and manage client relationships, with a strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex economic concepts to non-specialist audiences.
  • Experience working in consultancy, regulatory bodies, or economic advisory teams within law firms is highly desirable.
