What we are recruiting for:

We have an exciting opening within the Bovis Consulting business to lead the Development Sector. As the Associate Director, the individual will lead and be responsible for the delivery of the strategic direction, solutions and oversight of the sector. They will have an established reputation within Development, with substantial experience working with and within development organisations and associated organisations / consultancies.

  • Responsible for the delivery of significant technical solutions either as standalone commissions at an advisory level or as part of a larger multi-disciplinary teams, collaborating with clients to define and deliver their key outcomes representing their interests as a subject matter expert.
  • Responsible for development and implementation of a market leading professional services offer within the specific discipline, sector, or client organisations. They will be leading a team of circa 10 individuals to deliver projects at various points of development for clients. The individual must be able to demonstrate independent judgement and is responsible for the growth of their sector or discipline at a strategic level.
  • Own the relationships at senior levels; have a demonstrable reputation in their discipline or sector. They will define their respective part of the business plan, ensure the appropriate capability exists within the business and position the business accordingly to execute the business plan successfully.
  • Actively drive the development of the business pipeline and be responsible for implementation and commercial performance of their key client accounts, sector, and discipline. Delegate key areas of their responsibility to leadership teams they manage.
  • Lead a collaborative project team with sub consultants and potential partners to ensure strategic delivery of large projects or programmes, with excellent people skills to manage relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking, build high performing teams with strong planning and organisational skills, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience in multiple stages of the project life cycle and the associated disciplines required to successfully map out and deliver the agreed outcome. They will be able to communicate and negotiate with a client/customer focus, develop, and implement project programmes integrated with multiple disciplines for pre-construction phasing and through construction and close out.
  • Responsible for large projects and commissions and be accountable for the business growth and development within the sector. The individual will provide overall accountability for output and input to external parties, clients, and lead with strategic activities to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of project and programme management operations.

Experience & background:

  • Experience in one or more of the following sectors - Public Sector, Private Sector, Multi-Industry, Large Scale Complex Projects.
  • Experience in commercial proposal structuring and investment modelling
  • Experience in multi-use schemes of both land and building development
  • Working understanding of funding models and solutions, feasibility studies, development appraisals and town planning requirements.
  • Experience working on projects and programmes throughout multiple stages of lifecycle delivery
  • Experience taking the strategic lead for building relationships with key landowners, institutional investors and developers who are potential partners for mixed-use and development schemes.
  • Experience in more than one Project Role performed e.g., Contractor, Client, EA
  • Experience working in a Programme or Portfolio Oversight capacity
