Overview

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a forward-thinking accountancy firm seeking a tax expert who has significant compliance and advisory experience.

As the Corporate Tax Director, you will assist with the management and development of the corporate tax team and well-established portfolio of OMB/SME and large corporate clients providing a mix of compliance and advisory services.

Responsibilities

  • Playing a key and leading role in developing and maintaining relationships with corporate clients.
  • Liaising with the Accounts and Audit Directors/Partners to ensure a comprehensive tax service to clients.
  • Managing the Complex Corporate Tax team.
  • Providing technical and mentoring support to the junior Tax team members.
  • Managing and reviewing complex corporate tax returns.
  • Being the point of contact for HMRC, including the CCM where relevant and supporting clients with handling HMRC investigations.
  • Managing work-in-progress on all assignments ensuring regular and timely billing and assisting with the prompt collection of debtors.
  • Being involved in internal and external presentations.

Qualifications

  • Considerable experience of tax with a focus on large corporate tax compliance.
  • CTA qualified; ACA/ACCA an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to show initiative.
  • Accurate and able to work well under pressure.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
