Job Description
We are looking for a talented and ambitious individual to join the Bristol Corporate tax team in a senior role, managing a portfolio of clients, working with Partners/Directors or independently on complex consultancy and advisory projects in Corporate tax and R&D. A key part of the role involves business development of existing and new clients, as well as developing specialized technical or sector knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted adviser, engaging with clients on broader commercial and strategic issues.
- Manage a portfolio of complex advisory and compliance cases.
- Provide exceptional client service and develop client relationships.
- Identify opportunities within the client portfolio.
R&D/Incentives Work
- Manage R&D client portfolios and claims, including client relations and workflow management.
- Communicate with clients on technical R&D claim matters, including financial analysis and technical interviews.
- Prepare and review tax relief claims and provide advice.
- Follow procedures considering legislative changes and HMRC guidance.
Staff Management and Development
- Coordinate with Partners and Directors.
- Conduct appraisals and monitor staff performance.
- Provide on-the-job training for junior staff.
- Address staff questions and collaborate with team members and across the firm.
Practice Development
- Participate in business development and profile-raising activities locally.
- Leverage networks to generate new business and referrals.
- Engage in marketing and PR opportunities.
Compliance
- Ensure procedures follow institute and HMRC guidance.
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA) and/or tax advisor (CTA).
- Significant corporate tax experience in professional or industry settings.
- Technically skilled tax adviser capable of managing complex client work.
- Experience in managing people and client relationships.
- Business development skills and growth mindset.
- Project management experience.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders.
