THE ROLE↘
We are looking for a Creative Director to lead the conceptual creative output and direction of Boulder Creative Studios. Following a hefty repositioning of our studio and WIP re-brand (Live in Sept 25!), we are entering a phase of growth that requires a specific type of creative leader. A candidate who has the experience and confidence to push the creative integrity and quality of the studio forward, but also with an entrepreneurial mindset that understands the shifting landscape of the creative industry and the requirement for agencies and studios to adapt with the times in order to thrive.
Most importantly we need a Creative Director who shares our ambition for becoming the world’s best creative partner for science + tech brands. Someone who relishes the challenge of taking complex topics/products/services and turning them into utterly compelling, original and arresting creative campaigns.
The candidate will be responsible for line managing a midweight creative as well as collaborating with the Motion + Design Director to oversee creative development as it moves through the design and animation studio. In addition they will have a close working relationship with the Managing Director, Strategy Director and Client Services Director to ensure creative concepts and development are delivering on the required objectives and insights.
You’ll oversee tentpole projects, support the creative output across smaller briefs, and play a key role in shaping the creative reputation of the studio across the industry.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR↘
· Champions creativity at every opportunity. From client meetings to internal presentations to final delivery day, you will be pushing for the highest possible level of creativity.
· Guiding, mentoring, and motivating creative teams to perform to the highest standards, including copywriters, art directors, designers and animators
· Lead new and existing client pitches – always ensuring that the BCS standards, tone of voice and ambition for creativity is upheld through our creative concepts.
· Cares deeply about the power of creativity and the impact it can have for our clients in the science + technology sectors
· Generates innovative and impactful ideas for campaigns across various media, including traditional, digital, social, and experiential
· Is an outstanding presenter and storyteller – with the ability to command the attention and respect of clients, peers and colleagues alike
· Works closely with strategists, account teams, and other agency departments to ensure seamless project execution
· Is embedded in the wider creative and advertising community – able to spot trends, opportunities and executions that are relevant and exciting for our core target clients.
· Partners with clients to understand their needs, present creative concepts, and ensure projects meet their expectations
WHAT YOU’LL BRING↘
· A minimum of 2 year’s experience as a Creative Director, preferably in an agency or studio environment.
· A portfolio that shows an array of award winning creative across B2C and B2B campaigns, health, pharma and tech brands are a bonus
· Exceptional creative taste and a strong portfolio of original, multi-platform work.
· A range of branding projects, including both designing brands from scratch and reinventing existing brands tonally and visually.
· A clear POV on AI and creative innovation, backed up with experience in implementing and overseeing creative transformations of agency departments.
· A collaborative spirit and the ability to inspire, mentor, and challenge teams.
· Strategic thinking and the ability to link creative ideas to client goals and industry shifts.
· A curiosity and excitement about complex subjects, especially in science and technology.
· A belief in modern marketing. Not just creating "hero" pieces, but building integrated, asset-rich campaigns that drive measurable impact.
· Comfort using or exploring AI tools as part of your creative workflow.
· Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
