The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Director of Estates and Facilities to join our senior leadership team. This is a key strategic role, supporting the delivery of safe, sustainable, and high-performing estates and facilities services across the Trust.

A major focus of this role will be supporting the delivery of the £65 million capital redevelopment of Lynfield Mount Hospital – a transformational programme that will modernise inpatient mental health facilities, enhance therapeutic environments, and support the delivery of outstanding care for future generations.

You will work closely with the Director of Finance, Contracting & Estates and other senior colleagues to ensure our estate is fit for purpose, compliant, and aligned with the Trust\'s clinical and strategic ambitions.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Support strategic planning and operational delivery of the Trust\'s estates and facilities services.
  • Lead on capital programmes, property management, and lifecycle planning – including redevelopment of Lynfield Mount Hospital.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, fire safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Drive sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives in line with NHS Net Zero targets.
  • Manage outsourced contracts and in-house services, ensuring value for money and high performance.
  • Provide expert advice to senior leaders and contribute to Board-level reporting.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and staff engagement.

About You

We\'re looking for a confident and capable leader with:

  • Significant experience in estates and facilities management, ideally within the NHS or a complex public sector organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare estates, capital planning, and statutory compliance.
  • Experience in delivering major capital programmes, ideally in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • A commitment to sustainability, inclusion, and service excellence.
