Deputy Director of Services and Innovation – Home-based (with regular travel across the Central Region of England).
The Organisation: Our client provides essential support to those who are experiencing disadvantage. They are now looking for a Deputy Director of Services and Innovation to join them on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

The Role
As Deputy Director of Services and Innovation, you will lead operational teams across the Central Region, driving service delivery, transformation, and strategic growth.
You’ll be accountable for performance, safeguarding, quality assurance, and risk management while overseeing budgets and leading Operational Managers and an Assistant Director.
Building strong partnerships with commissioners, funders, and stakeholders, you’ll ensure services are sustainable, inclusive, and outcome focused.
A key part of the role will be driving innovation, embedding continuous improvement, and shaping new service models that respond to the needs of those who may be experiencing disadvantage.
Additionally, you will:
- Lead regional stakeholder engagement and cross-sector partnerships
- Oversee service and financial performance to ensure value for money
- Drive new business opportunities, tenders, and innovative service design
- Ensure robust safeguarding, equality, and compliance standards across all services
About You
To be considered as a Deputy Director of Services and Innovation, you will need:
- Experience managing a range of complex services for vulnerable groups
- Experience of partnership and stakeholder engagement at senior levels in other organisations and government bodies
- Experience leading large and geographically diverse teams, budgets and income generation over £2million
- Knowledge of safeguarding and regulatory frameworks
- Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities
- A recognised professional qualification in social work, health, education, youth work, or equivalent
- A Leadership & Management qualification (minimum Grade 5) and/or equivalent experience in senior management and leadership
