Director – Analytical Engineering

As the Director of Analytical Engineering you will lead a global team of data analysts and analytics engineers to deliver actionable insights that drive business decisions and accelerate our scientific portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing team of Data Analysts and Analytics Engineers across multiple time zones.
• Own end‑to‑end solution delivery from requirements gathering through architectural design and functional production deployment in a cloud environment.
• Act as Technical Product Owner within Agile teams and shape the overall strategy and roadmap for the Data and Analytics Organisation.
• Champion the use of advanced analytics, data warehousing and modern BI tools to optimise solutions and continuous process improvements.
• Build strong business relationships with key Product Owners, present findings and recommendations to partners and leaders within the company.
• Define and document UX data visualisation standards and maintain high‑quality data visualisations.

Qualifications

• B.Sc / M.Sc in Computer Science, Maths or related fields (Master’s degree preferred).
• Strong leadership experience in a technology organisation with a proven track record of building and leading high‑performing teams.
• Excellent experience with SSAS design and development and expert DAX skills.
• Hands‑on data visualisation and report development using Power BI and experience managing Microsoft Premium and Fabric Capacity solutions.
• Extensive knowledge and use in Azure cloud environment and strong knowledge of Azure data stack and integration architectures.
• Highly skilled in Agile methodologies and ability to manage multiple concurrent efforts.

Highly Regarded Skills

• Cloud experience (Azure).
• Proficiency in Data Warehouse & BI Analytics.
• Experience with data science including Python.
