LOCATIONS: Birmingham / Bristol / Edinburgh / Glasgow / Leeds / London

HOURS: Full-Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

About This Opportunity

An outstanding opportunity has become available to join the encouraging and collaborative Asset Finance (AF) product team. The role will drive the strategy and development of the product across both Business & Commercial Banking (BCB) and Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) and will have particular focus on product development and pricing strategy.

Asset Finance is part of Lending & Working Capital within BCB. We have a clear purpose and role in Helping Britain Prosper, funding business critical assets to support our clients drive growth, improve efficiency and build a more sustainable approach.
 

The team plays an integral role in the delivery of our overall strategy, financial commitments, effective risk management, and customer experience.
 

Reporting to the Head of Product, this is a key leadership role working closely with colleagues across the business. Providing direct leadership to Associate Directors and playing a broader leadership role within the wider team.
 

We're looking for a dynamic, personable and proactive team builder who is an excellent collaborator with strong interpersonal skills.
 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Owns the pricing and product development strategy across Asset Finance

  • Work collaboratively across the end to end client journey to identify problems and opportunities to improve product offering and proposition to deliver better outcomes and improved commercial performance

  • Drive the product growth strategy, identifying and prioritising opportunities and leading through to delivery to improve our lending proposition to clients.

  • Responsibility for the functionality of the ePricer tool and the inputs into this pricing model. Liaison with partners across Portfolio Analytics, Credit Models and Treasury to ensure efficient model performance. Oversight of monthly update to tool inputs, and also wider tool development in conjunction with Commercial Lending Platform

  • Using data to provide market and/or sector insights, developing new or amending existing pricing strategies or initiatives. This gives a real opportunity to learn about specific sectors (or use your own insights and experience) using to devise price led initiatives for our clients

  • Opportunity to get involved in ad-hoc projects related to AF and our continued desire to ensure the customer is at the heart of all we do

  • Writing presentations for a variety of target populations, tailoring the tone and content to match the needs and expectations of each audience – often giving exposure to senior team members, presenting at forums chaired by Managing Directors

  • Act as subject matter authority across fields and capabilities (e.g. pricing, proposition and strategy)

  • Chair business and pricing forums including decision making on pricing exceptions

  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers

  • What You'll Need

  • Risk: A good risk manager, ensuring activities are delivered through a robust control framework with effective monitoring

  • And any experience of these would be useful

  • Awareness and understanding of Asset Finance/Lending products and markets

  • Strong commercial knowledge

  • Technical pricing experience & capability

  • Product strategy
