Overview
Mastercard has a vision to build a leadership position as the only truly multi-rail payments technology company. The role focuses on driving Large Market Commercial growth for Mastercard in Europe, shaping new business development initiatives, medium to long term priorities, and driving commercial revenue across Europe. The position requires consultative leadership and close collaboration with stakeholders across Mastercard and partner organizations to drive incremental volume while meeting strategic product and sales objectives.
The role will focus on business development of new channels and transformation strategies for large national, regional, and global companies, working with multiple internal stakeholders and external issuers/partners to build a plan for long term success.
Responsibilities
- Transformational business development opportunities and innovative approaches to meet strategic client requirements using Mastercard products and partner capabilities to drive growth.
- Act as a consultative B2B expert, collaborating with local account management, all BD teams and the European Commercial product team.
- Identify and develop new scalable opportunities in commercial payments with existing issuers and local market stakeholders.
- Establish new BD relationships with large corporations to validate use cases and demand for Mastercard Commercial products.
- Engage issuers focused on Large Market corporates to develop and execute strategies for new use cases.
- Derive corporate payments insights from BD activities to drive Mastercard’s relevance and presence.
- Partner with the European Commercial product team to accelerate sales and adoption of Commercial products to corporations.
- Coordinate with cross-regional and global Commercial sales teams to align transformative BD opportunities.
- Enhance ongoing BD relationships with industry and corporate audiences by organizing forums, webinars and conferences in the T&E and B2B space.
- This role is a sole contributor position.
All About You
- Excellent Commercial payments experience across Product and Business Development.
- Trusted advisor with a proven consultative BD approach, especially to the banking sector and large corporates.
- Deep understanding of B2B payment flows, business needs and the purchase-to-pay process in large organisations.
- Track record of creating new initiatives, identifying payment challenges and solutions, and introducing new B2B commercial payments solutions.
- Experience creating, executing, and managing BD strategies involving B2B payments, ERP platforms, P2P technologies and CFO-relevant transaction flows.
- Ability to build meaningful, trusting relationships with multinational customers & C-Level executives.
- Strong collaborator with internal and external partners.
- Discretion, integrity, and agility in roles requiring sensitive information handling.
Experiences And Other Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communications to articulate solutions and value propositions to senior managers and customers.
- Strong ability to collaborate and deliver results in a cross-functional environment.
- High self-motivation and ability to work autonomously with a results-oriented mindset.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are highly preferable.
