Robert Walters is exclusively retained by a Swiss-headquartered fintech to appoint a Director, Consulting. The firm’s API-first, cloud platform powers digital wealth, credit and insurance propositions for banks, wealth managers, insurers and consumer brands across EMEA and APAC.The opportunityYou’ll lead late-stage client engagements (think fourth workshop and beyond), shaping end-to-end solutions, setting clear “in/out of scope”, and steering programmes from solution design through delivery. You’ll mentor a small bench of consultants/analysts, and act as the senior bridge between business owners and technical teams. This is not a pure sales role: consultative pre-sales and delivery ownership are both central.What you’ll doOwn solutioning with senior client stakeholders (incl. Product Owners), translating business goals into target journeys, data flows, integration patterns and delivery plans.Lead workshops that articulate what the platform does—and equally, what it doesn’t—aligning scope, risks, assumptions and success metrics.Guide implementations from A→B: high-level design, interface contracts, non-functional needs, cutover principles; partner closely with product, architecture and delivery leads.Coach and supervise consultants/analysts; raise quality of discovery notes, BRDs/EPICs, acceptance criteria and playback materials.Contribute to growth: shape proposals/RFP responses, regional propositions and re-usable accelerators; support market development across multiple geographies.Read the room: adapt communication for HR, COO, CIO, PO or RM audiences; build consensus and keep momentum.What you’ll bringSenior consulting/solution leadership in digital wealth / platforms / embedded finance (e.g., adviser & investor journeys, wrappers like ISA/SIPP/GIA, custody/TA touchpoints, CRM/KYC, payments, pricing/fees).Strong grasp of integrations above the core (APIs, events, reference/data domains) and how to stitch front-to-back without replacing cores.Track record leading late-stage workshops and closing scope; comfortable stating trade-offs and “no’s” with credibility.Delivery ownership: moving from concept to go-live, not just advisory.Team leadership/coaching; excellent written materials and playback quality.Fluency in English; additional European language(s) a plus.
