Corporate Finance Director (Open to Partner) – Exeter office. A key leadership role in a highly regarded, fast-growing professional services firm with a strong footprint in the South West. The firm provides strategic deal advisory services to entrepreneurial SMEs through larger corporates. This role offers scope to shape and grow the regional Corporate Finance presence and a route to Partnership.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a professional services firm with an established advisory team and a rapidly expanding Corporate Finance offering. The firm supports collaborative senior leadership, M&A, debt advisory, and due diligence, along with a culture focused on development and inclusivity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a broad range of Corporate Finance transactions, including M&A, MBOs, equity and debt fundraising, due diligence, and strategic advisory work
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for clients throughout the deal lifecycle, providing commercially focused and innovative advice
  • Oversee multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring high-quality project delivery within time-sensitive deadlines
  • Develop and maintain strong networks, proactively identifying and securing new business opportunities
  • Mentor and lead a team of Corporate Finance professionals, supporting their development and contributing to a positive team culture
  • Collaborate with Partners and Directors across the firm to drive the Corporate Finance service line forward
  • Contribute to the wider strategy and leadership of the Exeter office and advisory division
  • Stay up to date with market trends and maintain a strong commercial understanding of key sectors and funding environments

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with significant post-qualified experience in Corporate Finance
  • Strong track record of leading successful M&A and other advisory transactions
  • Previous experience managing and growing a Corporate Finance team or function
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to oversee multiple live transactions
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to business development
  • Commercially astute with a strong understanding of deal structures, valuation, funding, and transaction processes
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, people-led environment
  • Defined progression path with opportunities to advance to Partner level
