  • Manage a UK tax group that includes around 30 subsidiary companies and joint ventures, helping to manage significant ongoing capital investment—over £2 billion annually—across our networks, renewables, and retail businesses.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the UK and global businesses and with external advisers, bringing your expertise to major transactions and projects that shape the future of a leading energy company.
  • Keep up to date with the evolving tax landscape, identifying risks and opportunities, and build strong, positive relationships with stakeholders including business teams, HMRC, and auditors.
  • Continuously look for ways to drive improvements and efficiencies, helping us stay ahead in a fast‑changing environment.

What You’ll Bring

  • Significant commercial tax experience and be adept at navigating the complexities inherent to large, regulated organisations—preferably within the energy or utilities sector—whether your background is in a senior consultancy position or industry role.
  • A Chartered Tax Adviser and/or Chartered Accountant qualification (or equivalent). Up‑to‑date knowledge of business taxes and tax reporting, with the ability to interpret complex information and make sound decisions.
  • A proven track record of leading and developing teams, with confident communication skills and the ability to explain tax matters clearly to a wide range of audiences.
  • A collaborative, flexible approach, with the ability to plan, organise, and deliver in a dynamic environment.
