Job title: Director - Healthcare AI Solutions

Location: Dubai (A relocation package is provided)


Responsibilities:

• Strategic Foresight & Technology Scouting:

- Scout the global healthcare AI vendor and partnership landscape, focusing on

solutions that can demonstrably leverage data assets and address prioritized clinical and operational needs.

- Provide data-driven recommendations and scientific due diligence reports to the

Corporate Strategy Office and the Technology Office, informing their strategic planning and implementation efforts.

- Conduct vendor-specific research and feasibility studies, assessing the scientific validity, data requirements, and integration potential of new AI solutions.

- Maintain expertise in the field, with a particular focus on the scientific evidence supporting emerging AI technologies and their applicability to healthcare.


• Science-Based Innovation:

- Partner with leading research institutions, universities, and technology providers to conduct joint due diligence on promising AI vendors and technologies, and to explore opportunities for collaborative research that addresses specific data-driven priorities.

- Develop and lead targeted research projects focused on validating the scientific claims and assessing the real-world performance of promising AI solutions, leveraging data where possible.

- Translate research insights into clear recommendations and actionable guidance for the Corporate Strategy Office and the Technology Office, regarding the adoption or rejection of specific AI solutions and partnerships.

- Provide technical guidance to the engineering team to enhance the quality and accuracy of deployed AI solutions.


• AI Solution Evaluation & Validation:

- Collaborate with the technical teams and the Corporate Strategy Office's innovation team, to define methods for evaluating the scientific validity, data-related aspects, and strategic alignment of new AI solutions.

- Assess the potential impact and risks associated with the implementation of different AI solutions, with a particular focus on scientific validity, data privacy, data security, ethical considerations, and potential return on investment.

- Develop and implement a framework for ensuring ethical and responsible use of AI across the organization.


• Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:

- Work closely with the leadership, business, and clinical teams to advocate for strategic technology initiatives and to ensure that new solutions are aligned with the organization's mission and vision to ensure the Corporate strategy team is aligned.

- Present research findings and recommendations to both technical and non- technical audiences, to enable the strategic and technical offices to take decisions.

- Contribute to cross-functional collaborations, ensuring a holistic approach to AI implementation across diverse areas of the organization to make better decisions.



Minimum Qualifications:

- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline.

- 10+ years of experience in AI-related research and development, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role, with a proven track record of translating scientific research into practical applications and strategic recommendations in a healthcare setting.

- Strong understanding of various AI techniques (machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, etc.).

- Demonstrated experience in translating research insights into practical applications with measurable real-world impact.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts and data-driven insights to diverse audiences.


Bonus Qualifications:

- Experience with publishing scientific research papers in leading journals or conferences.

- Prior experience in a research lab setting.

- Prior experience working in a healthcare, life science or biotech setting.

- Experience with establishing research collaborations and partnerships across different regions.

- Experience working with large, complex healthcare datasets and an understanding of data governance principles.

- Experience in evaluating technology vendors and conducting due diligence.
