Bonhill Partners are supporting a leading global financial services organisation in their search for an experienced Director of Infrastructure Strategy & Enterprise Architecture . This senior leadership role will own the definition and execution of infrastructure strategy, enterprise architecture, and service management across the region.
The RoleYou will be responsible for shaping and delivering a long-term infrastructure roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and global standards. The position requires a proven track record in strategy and architecture delivery—not advisory, but hands-on execution within complex, regulated environments.
As a key leader, you will oversee and develop a community of architects, providing both direct line management and indirect leadership, while working closely with senior stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners.
Responsibilities- Define and deliver infrastructure strategy and enterprise architecture for the region, aligned with global objectives.
- Lead the execution of a 5 year roadmap, covering digitalisation, vendor consolidation, and infrastructure modernisation.
- Drive the transition of on-premise end-user services (e.g., VDI estate) towards modern, cloud-enabled solutions.
- Shape and manage a multi-cloud strategy (Oracle, Azure, AWS), ensuring integration with decommissioning programmes.
- Partner with networking, cyber security, and service management teams to design and operate secure, automated, future-ready services.
- Champion innovation in areas such as AI/GenAI, exploring opportunities to enhance automation, end-user experience, and operational efficiency.
- Build and foster a community of architects across the region, providing thought leadership, coaching, and alignment with enterprise practices.
- Proven experience as a Director (or equivalent) in Architecture within global, regulated organisations (financial services strongly preferred).
- Hands-on background in enterprise architecture, with exposure to multiple domains beyond end-user computing.
- Demonstrated success in leading both strategy creation and execution, not advisory-only consulting.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience leading both direct reports and influencing broader teams.
- Deep knowledge of financial services technologies, including cloud, platforms, telecommunications and networks, digital workplace, data management, and artificial intelligence (including GenAI).
- Expertise in multi-cloud environments (Oracle, Azure, AWS) and their integration into complex infrastructure ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of regulated industry requirements, including audit, risk, and compliance considerations.
- Future-focused mindset, able to translate emerging technologies (e.g., AI, automation) into practical strategies.
