Overview Working on high profile assignments with some of the best in the field, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, with a mix of both private equity and corporate transactions, within a highly commercial, client focused environment.

Our core services include financial acquisition and vendor due diligence and bid defence. We work on both UK and international assignments involving cross-border as well as cross-service line teams requiring our people to build wide networks across both the UK and International firm.

Typically, we work within a wider deal team which accesses the firm's vast range of specialist expertise including commercial and operational due diligence, sale and purchase agreement negotiation, real estate, treasury, pensions, modelling, fund placement, merger integration, IT and business intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on multiple engagements, leading client interactions and managing overall progress of engagements across all workstreams
  • Build and maintain commercial relationships with senior external stakeholders at existing and target clients
  • Oversee the financial due diligence workstream, including:
    • Coach and train junior members of the team
    • Manage all stakeholders such as client, other Deloitte service leads and to the extent relevant, overseas teams
    • Quickly develop an understanding of the target business and its drivers
    • Interpret and analyse information memoranda, business plans and publicly available information on the target business
    • Review and analyse historical financial information, including historical trading, cash flow and balance sheets
    • Review and analyse projections and the underlying assumptions
    • Review the sale and purchase agreement and correlate findings of due diligence process therein
    • Manage project deadlines and economics
  • Have a strong emphasis on coaching and developing team members, being responsible for performance management of team members
  • Manage diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution
  • Report and present key issues to our clients, including identification of risk or price affecting considerations arising from our work.
  • Lead and develop service offerings and evolving propositions to drive practice growth

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experienced TS professional with experience of winning and delivering corporate and private equity transactions
  • Extensive experience of operating with and presenting to senior level stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Exceptional academic background or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability in leading business development, from opportunity identification to conversion into sales, including developing and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Extensive experience writing and reviewing concise, high-quality reports, with appropriate focus on attention to detail and effectively communicating complex financial information
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and processes to ensure appropriate implementation
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, analyse, and resolve complex issues efficiently and effectively
  • Advanced Excel skills, including working with Power Pivot, to efficiently analyse and interpret large data sets to provide insightful conclusions
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Full travel mobility
  • Flexibility for international travel
  • Fluency in a major European foreign language would be an advantage
  • Strong commercial acumen and market awareness
  • Understanding and practical application of AI tools within a financial due diligence context
  • Strong client focus - be focused on high quality service
