Responsibilities

  • Lead on academy financial planning, analysis and decision making to optimise the impact of every £ spent from the Trust’s income, ensuring that every school within the Trust is a great place for pupils to learn.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the regional and academy finance teams and collaborate with a wider team to deliver educational and financial targets.
  • Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders including local authorities and suppliers; provide financial guidance as a trusted advisor to CFO, senior executives and academy leadership.
  • Lead on financial strategy across the Trust and ensure alignment with broader organisational goals.
  • Travel to schools/offices throughout the OAT network as required; this is a full-time remote role with regular travel during school hours.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a finance partner with senior leadership involvement, supporting financial decision making.
  • Experience managing significant budgets greater than £100 million across multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement and supplier management.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and management skills with the ability to interpret and analyse complex data.
  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, Principals and the CFO.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align financial strategies with organisational goals.
