A leading international law firm is seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Client Development - International to lead its client development efforts across the UK and continental Europe. This is a senior leadership role with significant scope to shape the firm's growth strategy, build and expand a high-performing team, and drive impactful client engagement across key global markets.

About this role:

  • Strategic Leadership: You'll guide client development across high-profile practice areas including International Arbitration, White Collar Investigations, Antitrust, Cybersecurity and IP.
  • Team Growth: You'll lead and expand a talented team across London, Brussels and Berlin, with immediate opportunities to recruit and develop new hires.
  • Global Collaboration: Work closely with senior stakeholders across Europe and the US to deliver cross-border initiatives and elevate the firm's international profile.
  • Innovation & Visibility: Drive thought leadership, market campaigns, and client-facing events that position the firm as a forward-thinking leader in legal services.
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute client development strategies aligned with firm-wide goals and practice group priorities.
  • Lead strategies around pitches, proposals and campaigns that win new business and deepen client relationships.
  • Oversee legal directory submissions and awards strategies across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage external PR relationships and drive visibility through events, sponsorships and social media.
  • Provide strategic counsel to partners and lawyers, leveraging data, market insights and business intelligence.
  • Champion cross-practice collaboration and support lateral partner integration.
  • Own the planning and execution of client-facing events, webinars and thought leadership initiatives.
  • What's needed:

  • Senior-level experience in client development within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, including remote team oversight.
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to execution.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across cultures and jurisdictions.
