A newly created opportunity has arisen for a Head of Data & Analytics to join a fast-paced, data-rich, and highly regulated business. This role represents an exciting step for someone ready to grow into broader leadership, combining hands-on technical expertise with responsibility for leading and shaping a growing data function.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in building and leading a team of data analysts, ensuring data is at the heart of decision‑making, while beginning to lay the foundations of a wider data strategy across analytics, engineering, and AI.

The Role

As Director of Data & Analytics, you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • Drive the delivery of accurate, impactful reporting and analytics to inform business decisions.
  • Balance hands-on technical work (primarily in Power BI and related analytics tools) with leadership responsibilities.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to identify and prioritise opportunities for insight.
  • Present clear, actionable insights that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Begin to shape the roadmap for the wider data strategy, including engineering, AI, and advanced analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the company’s reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Deliver high-quality dashboards and self-service analytics using Power BI.
  • Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and governance standards.
  • Partner with Technology and Product teams to align analytics with cloud-based platforms and infrastructure.
  • Champion data literacy across the organisation, building confidence and capability in using data for decision-making.
  • Over time, support the evolution of the data strategy into areas such as data engineering, AI, and predictive modelling.

About You

This role is ideal for an ambitious data leader who still enjoys being hands-on with analytics but is ready to step further into leadership and strategic influence.

  • Proven experience leading or managing data/analytics teams.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Power BI (and other BI tools).
  • Excellent understanding of data analytics, modelling, and storytelling.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with a desire to grow into broader responsibility.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries.
  • Exposure to data governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience of building or scaling data teams.
  • Familiarity with data engineering concepts or emerging AI/ML applications.
