Pearson's Data Privacy Office is on a mission to foster a culture of privacy across the business by taking a proactive approach to managing risk, empowering the workforce to understand their role in delivering privacy by design and by ensuring that we are transparent in our use of, and facilitate the exercise of individual rights over, the personal information we are entrusted with.

About the role

Reporting to Pearson's Chief Privacy Officer (CPO), the Director of Data Privacy (EMEA & APAC) is responsible for guiding and supporting Pearson's businesses on their efforts to comply with data protection legislation and best practice and in implementing Pearson's global privacy programme.

This role will act as Pearson's Data Protection Officer for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). As a privacy professional and leader the role will support/coach junior privacy lawyers and professionals in their day-to-day activities and in furthering their careers.

This role can be fully remote, hybrid or office based. If the successful candidate does work from home full time there will be some expected travel on business if that is required to perform any tasks associated with the role, and they may be asked to attend Pearson offices for team meetings or other work events from time to time.
