Job Title: Director of Energy Investments
Location: London (with international travel as required)

Role Purpose: Lead the development and execution of a global energy investment strategy, ensuring secure, commercially competitive, and sustainable power solutions across multiple regions. This role combines deep energy market insight with commercial leadership and technical credibility. It will drive long-term sourcing, structure high-value deals, and build strategic partnerships to support business growth, sustainability, and operational resilience.

Core Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver the global energy investment strategy across a fast-growing portfolio of assets.
  • Analyse grid capacity, regulatory trends, and market constraints to secure early access and long-term advantage.
  • Develop and implement power acquisition strategies aligned to growth and ESG objectives.
  • Lead commercial negotiations for PPAs, interconnection agreements, and contracts with utilities, IPPs, and aggregators.
  • Identify and mitigate risks linked to market volatility, regulation, and infrastructure availability.
  • Optimise sourcing of renewable energy, resilience systems, and local compliance across target regions.
  • Provide commercial input into development and investment decisions.
  • Present clear, data-led investment cases and strategies to senior leadership and investors.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with regulators, utilities, grid operators, and partners.

Key Relationships

  • Works closely with strategy, development, technology, delivery, sustainability, legal, finance, and executive stakeholders.
  • Engages externally with regulators, utilities, system operators, and investment partners.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven senior-level experience in energy strategy, power procurement, or investment within utilities, trading, or infrastructure.
  • Track record in negotiating and executing complex, high-value energy deals across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong knowledge of wholesale energy markets, regulation, and grid infrastructure in the UK, Europe, and GCC.
  • Commercially literate with the ability to present investment logic and market positioning to boards and investors.
  • Experience developing long-range sourcing strategies in grid-constrained or capacity-limited environments.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy and low-carbon technologies is desirable.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
