I am recruiting for a Director of Finance & Commercial to work on a hybrid basis - 2-3 days in Cardiff, with the remaining time remote. The role falls inside IR35, so you will need to work through an umbrella company for the duration of the contract.

You will provide strategic leadership and management of all financial, commercial, and economic activities, offering expert advice and support during a period of significant organisational change and transformation. The Chief Financial Officer will ensure robust financial stewardship, oversee effective governance, and drive value for money in decision-making, enabling the organisation to meet its objectives in line with public sector best practices and standards.

Ideal candidates will have senior leadership experience in finance within a complex organisation, preferably in the public sector. Experience in delivering strong financial management and value for money is essential. You should be capable of leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams through change, with experience in strategic planning and influencing at the board level. A comprehensive knowledge of financial control, reporting, assurance, and performance management is required, along with an in-depth understanding of Managing Public Money and government standards.
