Director of Fundraising The Peel | Clerkenwell, London | Up to £75k | Hybrid
Not sure what skills you will need for this opportunity Simply read the full description below to get a complete picture of candidate requirements. The Peel has been at the heart of Clerkenwell for over 125 years – quietly and consistently working to strengthen this unique community. Today, we’re on the brink of a new chapter. After a period of strategic turnaround and operational development, we’ve laid strong foundations and are ready to build again. We’re clearer than ever about the role we play, the difference we make, and the potential that’s just waiting to be unlocked. This newly created role of Director of Fundraising will play a central part in that next step. Over recent years, our income has come from various sources, including some local authority and grant funding, from renting out space in our building and from some investments that we are lucky enough to have.  But we know we can do more – and we know we need to. We’re looking for someone who can help us raise our game. We’re fortunate to have deep roots in a dynamic part of London. Clerkenwell is home to major institutions, buzzing SMEs, creative industries, and a diverse population. There’s a huge opportunity to build meaningful partnerships with people who share our values and want to contribute to their community. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a strategic fundraising lead who can shape the function, build systems, spot opportunities, and grow relationships – someone equally at home creating compelling comms, cultivating corporate partners, and securing strategic funding/grants. You’ll bring the energy and experience to drive a new income strategy, while knowing when to start small, move smart, celebrate the first wins, and when to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in. You’ll be joining a team (and a charity) in development – ambitious, optimistic, and still hands-on. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to build something meaningful, in a place that’s already making a difference, and if that sounds like you, then we’d love to hear from you.
