This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of inclusive and sustainable growth for one of the UK’s biggest urban regeneration programmes. As the Director of Inclusive and Sustainable Growth, you will help to create a resilient local economy that focuses on delivering benefits for communities in Bristol and the West of England.


Reporting into the CEO, the Director of Inclusive and Sustainable Growth will play a key role in delivering place, growth and homes across Bristol Temple Quarter ensuring that we realise its full economic and social potential in a way that maximises benefits for local and regional residents.


What you’ll do

Lead strategically: oversee the evolution and implementation of the Inclusive and Sustainable Growth, Housing, and Industrial and Employment Land strategies for Bristol Temple Quarter.


Build community participation: build long term mechanisms for meaningful community engagement with a focus on building trust and diverse representation.


Work in partnership: foster collaboration between public and private sectors, working with partners to maximise social value from major development and across business sectors.


Drive Impact: manage a delivery programme from business investment and innovation to housing and community participation, and overseeing the implementation of inclusive growth priorities, including the BTQ Charter and Community Fund.


Advise with influence: be a senior leader within the BTQ LLP, acting as a trusted voice on high-profile issues like community participation, the local economy, and housing delivery.


About You

You will be a senior leader with experience in both strategy and delivery. The BTQ LLP is a new organisation with high expectations, and your experience of leading high-performing teams to deliver real impact will be critical to your and the BTQ LLP’s success.


This is a role with breadth and depth, and you will be experienced in a range of issues, from working across sectors to deliver positive outcomes for communities and businesses, understanding current issues around housing delivery, to establishing practical delivery mechanisms for employment and skills that benefit local people.

The Bristol Temple Quarter Limited Liability Partnership (BTQLLP) is seeking to engage Director of Inclusive and Sustainable Growth on an interim basis to join the team helping to shape the future of Bristol Temple Quarter, to create a place people want to live, work and spend time.


Bristol Temple Quarter (BTQ) is one of the UK’s largest city-centre regeneration programmes, aiming to transform 135 hectares in the centre of Bristol. It is a partnership between the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority (MCA), Bristol City Council and Homes England.


The partners have formed the BTQ LLP as a standalone organisation to drive forward the transformation of the BTQ area. We are an inclusive, trustworthy, and committed team using our diverse skills and innovative approaches to build new communities and workspaces. Our mission is to work in partnership to deliver our ambitious regeneration vision for Bristol Temple Quarter.
