We are on an exciting growth journey to become the UK’s most loved retirement expert.Role SummaryWe are looking for a Director of Investment Operations and Reporting to lead the investment operations and reporting teams, accountable for outcomes (planning, prioritization and execution), providing leadership, partnering with other business areas, and driving significant change and improvements to support growth of the organisation. You will oversee BAU, change and improvements across the Middle Office, Back Office, short-term liquidity risk management, and collateral management, as well as the Treasury Management System (TMS) – Quantum.ResponsibilitiesMiddle office – Lead the validation of trade instructions’ execution with third parties and internal investment team; build and leverage third-party relationships (custody, asset managers and banks); oversee validation and settlement of investment fees with third parties; ensure accuracy of information flowing to the Datawarehouse and inputs to actuarial/finance processesLiquidity management – Lead the risk framework and policy for short-term liquidity; devise tools for managing liquidity including deployment of excess liquidity into appropriate return-yielding investments; oversee MI production at MAP, NMAP, legal entity and Group level (cash and liquidity), including cash flow forecasts and PRA reports; ensure liquidity risk is managed per Group policy and conduct liquidity stress testing regularly; escalate and action all liquidity requirements in a timely mannerCollateral management & settlements – Manage and report on derivative and reinsurance collateral, including instructions for collateral moves and timely posting by counterparties; maintain relationships with third parties; generate accounting records, reports and disclosures on collateral, including collateral adequacyInvestment accounting – Lead generation of accounting records and analyses for invested assets; develop and operate external debt operational accounting and reporting processes; report on IFRS, Solvency II and other regulatory/statistical reporting; manage independent price verification of publicly traded invested assetsTransaction support – Supervise regular transaction support (onboarding of new asset managers, new asset classes, in-specie asset transfers, or charge processes); provide input on structuring and collateral management for large transactionsComplex asset valuation – Supervise asset and derivative modelling requirements of the TMS, including key judgments and assumptionsTMS implementation & optimisation – Drive implementation of changes, embedding controls and training of teams; consider operating model implicationsOutsourcing supervision – Oversee relevant outsource supplier relationships (financial institutions, asset managers, custodians, asset servicers and pricing services); ensure compliance with Group Outsourcing PolicyTeam management – Be a proactive member of the leadership team, build a high-performing treasury team, ensure Risk Sword / OneSumX is maintained for risks, controls and incidentsGovernance – Run or attend key governance committees including ALCO, Matching Adjustment Committee, Credit Committee and Complex Assets Valuation CommitteeSkills And ExperienceExperience leading middle and back office investment activities in a complex financial services environment (ideally life insurance)Strong understanding of a life insurance balance sheet management and drivers of performanceShort/medium-term liquidity risk management exposureAccounting or actuarial qualification is essential; treasury or investment qualification is desirableAbility to identify and solve complex operational and functional problems; ability to influence and persuade at senior levelsCompany BenefitsA competitive salary, pension scheme and life assurance25 days annual leave plus an additional day for your birthdayPrivate medical cover and income protectionBonus scheme – paid annually based on individual and company performanceCareer progression opportunitiesHeadspace app access, 24/7 Employee Assistance Hotline and health supportEmployee-funded benefits via online portalWhy Just?Be part of a culture that is ambitious, curious and collaborative, with a focus on customer outcomes.
