Director of Nursing - Community, Mental Health and Learning DisabilitiesNHS Forth Valley provides health services across a population of 306,000. There are currently 3,500 Nursing & Midwifery WTE staff employed. We work in partnership with two local councils and integration boards to deliver improved health and social care for our local communities.The post holder is the most senior nurse within the H&SCP and a key member of the H&SCP Senior Management Team, the Joint Integrated Board, Strategic Planning Group, and NHS Forth Valley Senior Leaders of NMAHPs Group.The post holder has strategic and operational leadership responsibility for ensuring the delivery of person-centered, safe, and effective nursing services and clinical practice within the H&SCPs, including commissioning arrangements, providing direction and guidance on professional issues by establishing effective clinical and care governance arrangements, developing policy, and establishing an effective and highly skilled nursing workforce to meet the needs of the Forth Valley population, in accordance with the 20:20 Vision and Quality Strategy.As Director of Nursing, you will provide energy, drive, leadership in partnership with colleagues, in the delivery of continuous improvement in the clinical and professional performance of NHS Forth Valley.We are looking for a highly professional registered nurse who is an inspiring individual and strategic thinker with the ability to create the conditions and deliver the leadership, confidence, and respect necessary to bring about sustainable change. You will be an exceptional individual with vision, drive, passion, and professional credibility, as well as a broad range of operational experience, strategic and professional skills.You will be able to communicate effectively with a range of audiences and have a proven track record of building high-performing teams bringing about change, in a complex healthcare system. Experienced in corporate work and as a key member of the senior nursing leadership team, you will be expected to contribute beyond your defined portfolio.Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
