Director of Operations – SEN School

Location: South East London Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum Contract: Permanent or Contract | 4–5 days per week

We are seeking an exceptional Director of Operations to join a well-regarded SEN school in South East London. This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead on the strategic and operational management of a specialist education setting.

As Director of Operations, you will take responsibility for the smooth running of all non-teaching aspects of the school, ensuring that pupils and staff are fully supported. You will lead on finance, HR, premises, compliance, and administration, and play a key role as part of the senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading the school’s financial strategy, budget setting, and resource management.

* Overseeing HR processes including recruitment, staff development, and compliance.

* Managing facilities, health & safety, and contracts.

* Supporting the Headteacher and governors with strategic planning and reporting.

* Leading and developing operational staff to deliver high-quality support services.

What we’re looking for:

* Proven experience as a Director of Operations, School Business Manager, or similar role.

* Strong financial acumen and organisational skills.

* Excellent leadership and communication abilities.

* Experience within an education or SEN setting (desirable but not essential).

* The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

This role offers flexibility, with the option to work 4 or 5 days per week, and can be appointed on either a permanent or contract basis.
